With my first tour of the year coming in fast, I figured I’d best make sure I’m good and ready to hit the stage. No better way to do that than to have you all join in and listen as I blow the dust off with a few tunes. While most folks were heading off to dig into their Thanksgiving feasts, I, along with my good pal Chris Kirby running the buttons, sat down and recorded 12 tracks in my studio with just me and my guitar. I’ve been wanting to do a recording like this for quite a while now and this felt like the right time to do it.
Some of my favourite moments on stage are when the room gets quiet and I get to slow things down a bit. That’s what this album is all about. These songs came from writing sessions with some great friends. Some I’ve been sitting on for a while, waiting for the right project and some came from how I’ve been feeling lately.
The first song we’re releasing is a co-write with my neighbour from the next town over, Terra Spencer. We wrote this together about a year ago. A good bit of heartbreak is always a must on any album and this song fills the slot nicely.
We’ll be releasing the full album on March 4. I’m looking forward to finally being able to get back on the road and bring these songs to you live.

Sharing the road with two of my heroes was an amazing experience. I grew up listening to both Steve and Marty, playing along to their albums cranked on the stereo. We drove 20,000 miles over the summer and I loved every minute of it. Here’s a little peek at what our days were like as the tour came to a close.
