France and Back

Hi All,

I'm just home from my first trip to France.  Had an amazing time em Paris and then to the smaller but still loads of fun Mantes La Jolie.  It was a great experience.  Can't wait to make it back.

I'm just finishing up packing for the Vinyl Cafe Christmas Tour.  Check out the tour dates at www.cbc.ca/vinylcafe.  Stuart and the crew always put on a fantastic show.

For the tour I'm going to have my Christmas album, "Spirit of Christmas".  I recorded this album with John Sheard(piano) and Dennis Pendrith(bass) from the Vinyl Cafe house band.  My good friend Dave Gunning was in the producer seat.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.  The album is being release to stores later this month.  If you want to get your hands on a copy early you can now order it from www.bustedflatrecords.com, or come on out to one of the Vinyl Cafe shows and I'll sign a copy for you.

In the new year I'm heading into the studio again to record a new album.  John and Dennis will be on this one as well along with drummer Geoff Arsenault.  Colin Linden is in to produce this one.  We are recording at Levon Helm's studio in Woodstock, NY.  Just having all those guys in that space is going to make for some magic moments.

I've recently been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music award for Solo Artist of the Year.  Also for two Maple Blues Awards, Entertainer of the Year and Acoustic Act of the Year.  The public can vote for the Maple Blues Awards just register at www.mapleblues.ca and vote for your favs.

Another bit of news.  I was just added to bill of the 2011 Glastonbury Festival in the UK.  I'm pretty excited about this one.  It's just about the biggest festival in the world.

Lots happening and lots to keep me busy in the new year.
