Here’s some footage of the guys and I at The Sonic Temple recording a track for the new album. Check it out, I promise there won’t be any screaming zombie’s popping up half way through.
To support the new release Weightless, I’ll be hitting the road across the US and Canada starting on January 11th and running until May 30th.
For a limited time (Oct 22-25) you can purchase premium seats for the shows. A special signed copy of the new album will be offered to those who take advantage of the premium seats. You will receive a link for the CD purchase after the sale has ended (October 25th). The autographed copy of the new album will be mailed February 4th, 2014.
This deal is only on until the weekend, if you want to make sure you’re up nice and close.
I’m taking some time off this month to head into the studio. I’m pretty excited to be recording some new tunes. Steve Berlin is on board as producer. Steve has produced some of my favourite albums. I can’t wait to hear how it all turns out.
In November I’m making my way over to Europe to play some shows in Switzerland, Denmark and The Netherlands, then wrapping up that run with a few shows in the UK. Lots of new places on this run and a few familiar haunts. It’s going to be cool to check out Denmark, the land of my people.
Check out the tour dates and see if I’m close by, or if you’ve got some folks you know who may be into the show, send ‘em my way.
Oh, and keep your eyes posted here on my site for the announcement of my tour dates to release the new album.
See you on the road,
In a couple of weeks I’ll be rolling through NB with my big band (cheeky wink). I’m doing a short run of shows with Symphony New Brunswick. These fundraising performances will help support SNB musicians through better rehearsal spaces and more rehearsal time.
Sept. 23 @ Capitol Theatre – Moncton, NB
Sept. 24 @ The Playhouse – Fredericton, NB
Sept. 25 @ The Imperial – Saint John, NB
These kinds of shows are always a lot of fun. Nothing more powerful than a full string section behind ya. Visit the tour page for tickets & info.
I’m thrilled to announce that when I hit the road in the spring with my new album I will be performing at Massey Hall in Toronto on March 1st.
Check out the this promo clip from the folks at Massey for the upcoming season. Hairy bugger siting at 1:25.
Over the last couple of months I’ve made some changes that are set to move things onwards and upwards. As a result of that we’ve made some changes to my home page to make sure that it is the place to go for anything you need to know about where I’ve been, where I’m at and where I’m going to be.
I’m just home from a great run in the UK and am currently making my way back and forth across North America for the next couple of months. Take a look at my tour dates and see if I’ll be taking a stage near you.
Enjoy the summer days.
See you on the road,
A clip of me performing “People Get Ready” from my recent interview with Dave Raven in London.
I’m just home from performing live on Belle et Bum in Montreal. It’s a great live music program that goes out across the province. It was a blast to be part of it all, the band was top notch.
This happened just in time to launch my new tour coming up in Quebec. Be sure to check my dates to see where I am playing in La Belle Province!
Just before I head to Quebec I will be making my first appearance at The City Winery in Chicago. I’m opening for Poundcake featuring Teddy Thompson (son of Richard Thompson). Then I’m heading to Elgin, IL before turning back up north.
I’m really looking forward to the shows coming up. My first taste of Chicago and all kinds of new ground in Quebec. After all that I will be heading to Australia for a weekend (yes a weekend) to hook up with my OZ brother Ray Beadle before heading to Byron Bay to play the Blues Fest along with The Tedeschi Trucks Band, Mavis Staples, Paul Simon, Ben Harper and a massive list of heavies. My head is going to be spinning.
That will be bring back home for a bit of a rest before I head to the UK and Ireland in June before the summer festivals hit in North America.
I hope we are all taking the weather in stride as we see the horizon of spring just ahead.
See you on the road,
A huge thanks to all of you for your support. It’s an honour to receive the Maple Blues Award to Male Vocalist of the Year. I only wish I could have been there to celebrate with my blues family.
I’m just about halfway through my first tour of the year. I started off in Alaska and have made my way down to Montana. We’ve been seeing some beautiful country side. The sky goes on forever here. The shows have been going great and I’ve been meeting all kinds of nice folks.
Mid February I’ll be making my way back into La Belle Province to continue my shows in Quebec. Looking forward to practicing my French.
Thanks again for the continued support. I’ll see you on the road.
